Love Your Body, Love Chiropractic

One of the most common questions you may find yourself asking as a chiropractic patient is, "I feel better after being adjusted, but why?" The answer is simple: your body is amazing. I'll even prove it to you.

Your body is made up of trillions of cells, each of them working in sync with one common goal: to keep you alive and healthy. For example, your bone marrow produces over 2 million red blood cells per second to carry oxygen to every part of your body. Your heart beats about 30 million times per year, allowing blood to flow through millions of miles of blood vessels.

Your nervous system, made up of over 1 trillion neurons, controls all of those functions and more. Each bone or vertebra that makes up your spine contains a nerve that is exiting your spinal column. These nerves reach every part of your body and when they become compressed by a misaligned vertebra (what we call a subluxation), the messages the nerves send become altered. The end result: pain and discomfort. This situation can be compared to water flowing through a hose. If a kink is put in the hose, much less water is able to flow through the hose and a build up occurs where the kink has been made.

When you come in to be adjusted, we work to correct the subluxation in your spine (or take the kink out) and allow your nerves to send their messages properly again (restoring the water flow!). The best part of is that your body takes care of the rest! No more pain or discomfort and a happier, healthier body!
